My Audience

  I am doing a survey to gain an understanding of my target audience and what they expect and would like to see in my entertainment magazine, i am hoping to find out the age and gender of my target audience, the colour scheme, genre and pricing that is expected. I will take into consideration people not taking my survey serious and i will take out or ignore the anomalies and just focus on the reliable and important information. I n  conclusion i found out all the information i wanted to find through doing a survey and i will take into consideration everything i found and apply as much of it as i can to my entertainment magazine.

Producers/Directors research

In this post I will be researching a range of media practitioners linked to entertainment magazines, paying particular attention to the style and use of conventions in the type of media products they produce.  I will also be making reference to some of their existing products, this will give me a ideas on how I can gain inspiration from their techniques and for my own productions of both the main task and the website. I think by understanding the practitioners linked to my chosen brief, it will enable me to produce a media text that follows and reflects their style more effectively.   I will incorporate Hearst's company values into my magazine such as their ethos which is "To engage people wherever they are", I will do this by including online competitions that all audience members can access and join into, this will engage people wherever they are because it will get people from all over the UK to get involved. I'll also do this by having the website and social media linked to the website and have it written on the magazine so that readers can go on these and express their opinions on it. Hearst's goal is to create purposeful and relevant content to help the audience strive and get more out of life, this will be achieved in Outtake because there will be exclusive content in my magazine which will make them feel like they're gaining more information than people that aren't reading it.
